CARELMAN JACQUES ( 1929-2012 ) Jacques Carelman was a theatre designer and costume creator. From 1952 he worked on "Complaints against a stranger" by Georges Neveux, "L'étrangleuse" by Tristan Bernard, "Les amours de don Perlimplin et de Bélise" by Fédérico Garcia Lorca in 1954, then "L'Ecole des veuves" by Jean Cocteau, "L'homme du destin" by G.B. Shaw, and finally on the sets for "Le Journal d'un fou" by Gogol and "Jenufa" by Janacek in 1962. Costume model for Ladislas in "Wenceslas of Rotrou" by Jean de Rotrou 1957. Gouache and pencil, signed and annotated with sample. 66 x 50 cm.
