CARELMAN JACQUES ( 1929-2012 ) Theatre decorator and costume designer, Jacques Carelman from 1952 works on "Complaints against a stranger" by Georges Neveux, "L'étrangleuse" by Tristan Bernard, "Les amours de don Perlimplin et de Bélise" by Fédérico Garcia Lorca in 1954, then "l'Ecole des veuves" by Jean Cocteau, "L'homme du destin" by G.B.Shaw, up to the sets of "Journal d'un fou" by Gogol and "Jenufa" by Janacek in 1962. Set of 8 costume models for "Candide" after Voltaire at the Théâtre populaire des flandres Lille. Gouaches and pencils, signed and annotated with samples. 50 x 32 cm each.
