CAROLINE OTERO. aka "La Belle Otero". Singer and dancer, notably at the Moulin-Rouge, thanks to its founder Joseph Oller. In August 1898, Otero became "the first star in the history of cinema" when operator Félix Mesguich filmed a dance number using the Lumière cinematograph. A great courtesan of the Belle Époque, she seduced Edward VII, King of England, Leopold II, King of Belgium, and Grand Duke Nicholas of Russia. Fully embroidered muslin dress.
